About Us

Steven Lewers & Associates is a small firm specializing in the creation of FoldingGuides™. Its founder, Steven Lewers, became interested in laminated guides for nature identification while working at Boston-based book publisher, Houghton Mifflin, where he served as Director of the Peterson Field Guide Series™. After leaving Houghton Mifflin, he published his first FoldingGuide™ to the Shells and Beach Life of Sanibel & Captiva Islands in 1999. Since then, Steven Lewers & Associates has gone on to create 21 other FoldingGuides™ for shell, bird, fish, and night sky enthusiasts, as well as a line of museum-quality posters and prints.

Bev Postmus- Ms. Postmus is a former teacher and naturalist who leads birding tours at the J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel Island, Florida.

Ernest C. Simmons- Mr. Simmons is a Sarasota Florida-based naturalist and well-known fine artist specializing in bird painting and illustration.

Dr. Robert Shipp- Dr. Shipp is head of the Marine Science Department of the University of South Alabama one of the foremost experts on saltwater fish in the Gulf. He is a columnist for Sport Fishing Magazine and the author of Dr. Shipp's Guide to Fishes of the Gulf Coast (KME Books) Buy it at Barnes and Noble
